Iconic electronic music group ODESZA is shaking up the dance music community as they announce a brand new EP– their first in nearly a decade. The group hinted at the project on Twitter along with a teaser of a new collab piece.
ODESZA’s last EP, My Friends Never Die, was released in 2013. The group is known for taking several year-long interludes between large releases such as their five-year break between albums before the release of The Last Goodbye last year.
The group describes this latest EP as a “psychedelic indie-dance” fusion, leaving fans’ imaginations running wild.
Based out of Bellingham, Washington, the duo (consisting of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight) is known for producing emotive music that stretches the boundaries of traditional dance genres.
On top of their unique music production style, fans also cherish ODESZA’s captivating stage presence featuring live instrument infusions and eye-dazzling laser, pyro, and LED screen displays.
The group even announced a cinematic project highlighting these elements as the film follows Mills and Knight along The Last Goodbye album tour earlier this year.
ODESZA hasn’t mentioned a name or potential release date for the new EP yet, but the group also released a 10-second clip titled “Heavier” previewing a new collab piece with Yellow House on their Twitter page. Check it out below:
