Victor Ruiz presents his 2023 edit of Binary Finary’s iconic 90s and early 00s hit ‘1998’ for the ‘Armada Music – 20 Years’ Anniversary Album.

Ruiz’s remix takes this historic trance anthem into a darker, techno-infused territory with rolling percussion and a dominant kick. Esteemed DJs such as Joseph Capriati, Adam Beyer, Armin van Buuren, Vintage Culture, Enrico Sangiuliano, and ANNA have championed Ruiz’s tech-trance rendition, which serves as a classic reincarnation perfect for those late-night, peak moments.

Reflecting on his inspiration, Ruiz shares, “1998 was the year I started playing music. On Christmas Day, my parents gifted me a bass guitar, and that changed my life completely. Fast forward to 2005 when I began producing electronic music, I was deeply into Psytrance and Trance. I discovered Binary Finary’s ‘1998,’ and it instantly became a classic and a personal favorite. I always dreamed of remixing the original track as it has had a tremendous influence on me throughout the years. When I finally got the chance to work on it, I knew I had to create something special. Mentally rehearsing this moment for over a decade, it took me a few months to develop the arrangement idea, but once it became clear, I knew exactly what to do. This remix is a testament to the fact that dreams do come true.”
