UMEK’s record label 1605 welcomes a new EP from Sam WOLFE

UMEK’s record label, 1605, welcomes a new dark and driving techno EP from Sam WOLFE who has collaborated with KARKIL.

Sam WOLFE is an American artist from Atlanta who has become a regular feature of 1605 and this is his sixth time releasing on the record label. He has a hard-hitting style of techno that erupts with explosive energy and his latest release is another example of this.

Along with 1605, Sam WOLFE has featured on other scene leading record labels such as Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds and Christian Smith’s Tronic. Along with his solo productions, he has also collaborated on music with The YellowHeads and released on their record label Reload.

This EP features a solo production by Sam WOLFE, plus a collaboration with KARKIL, who is a talented up-and-coming artist who has previously released peak time techno tracks on the likes of Evitative Records and Planet 66.

“Laceration” is the solo production by Sam WOLFE and it opens with a thumping kick drum and rumbling sub-bass that form the foundation for deep synth stabs. The track builds towards the suspense of the epic breakdown which introduces a euphoric lead synth before plunging back into darkness when the drums slam back in.

“Shadow Ritual” is the collaboration with KARKIL and it’s another pounding techno track with an aggressive energy that’s perfect for the dance floor. Its thickset synths tear out the speaker with dramatic effect while the melody adds uplifting tension.
