Sabo drops new afro house single ‘Bomeno’ featuring a remix by Hyenah.
Sabo is celebrating the 100th release on his record label Sol Selectas with a vibrant afro house release featuring one of his own tracks called ‘Bomeno’. The original mix is also complemented by a remix from Hyenah.
Sol Selectas has been releasing music for well over a decade and the imprint has had numerous underground hit tracks such as Namito’s ‘Stone Flower’ and Unders’ ‘Syria’. Sabo’s ‘Bomeno’ has the potential to be another of the label’s chart-topping successes, as it’s got a good dance floor energy and infectious hook with a memorable vocal sample and catchy melody combo.
Based in America, Sabo has used Sol Selectas as the main outlet for his own music, but he has also featured on the likes of Pipe & Pochet. Hyenah is a German artist who is well-known as a leading Afro-house producer that has worked with labels ranging from John Digweed’s Bedrock to Jimpster’s Freerange Records.
The original mix of ‘Bomeno’ opens the release with shuffling percussion and a metallic melody sound that is underpinned by deep sub-bass. It unfolds to introduce a trippy vocal sample that sounds like it’s of African origin.
Next up is Hyenah’s remix and he has stripped back most of the original’s percussion to make more of a jackin’ groove that’s perfect for stamping your feet to. It still has flowing top-end percussion but also has some new melody synths that complement the original’s metallic melody.
Sabo’s ‘Bomeno’ is out now via Sol Selectas. Purchase your copy here.
