Amsterdam based house crew PIV is making big waves again this summer with its cultured run of parties at Cova Santa up in the dusty hills of Ibiza. The season is now in full swing and this most recent event hit new highs with plenty of big sets and special back to backs as is often the way.
The special club is a real star of this night – it has a sun kissed dancefloor terrace, then a serious but intimate club space inside. The production is always great, stripped back and to the point with just the right amount of lighting. Around it are rolling, tree-covered hills that make you feel hidden away from the main Ibiza goings-on and somewhere very special.
The soundtrack is also unique when PIV is in control. House music with plenty of spaced out synths and future vibes, pumping yet deep drums and stylish grooves galore. The night was full of highlights including a special back to back between label head Prunk and Aron Volta who really brought out the best in one another. They closed the terrace in fine style with a full crowd vying to their tight selections. Inside was just as memorable with a perfect mix of UK and Spanish dancers all there for the music and non stop dancing.
M-High and Janeret sets inside later in the night were mind blowing, with killer tune after killer tune, dexterous mixing and plenty of playful drops and breakdowns to build the vibe. They played from 11pm until 2am when Lauren Lo Slung stepped up with her usual mix of sublime sounds and then Jansons closed it down with his hi tech and soulful minimal. A perfect set for the real house heads.
If you haven’t caught PIV at Cova Santa yet then you need to get yourself in gear because it’s one of the island’s best small parties.
