The Swedish label Drumcode, led by Adam Beyer, recently released a collaborative track titled ‘When I Push’. The track features Layton Giordani, Eli Brown, and OFFAIAH.
Staying true to Drumcode’s distinctive style, ‘When I Push’ begins with a solid and direct kick drum, setting the stage for classic synth soundscapes. As a special touch, OFFAIAH’s vocals from ‘Push Pull’ are teased before the drop, accompanied by the sound of an LFO automated rain synth. The rolling bassline remains a constant presence throughout the track.
Despite their individual successes, this collaboration marks the first joint venture for the artists. Eli Brown expresses his excitement for the project, stating, “Layton has been one of my favorite producers for some time, so collaborating on music together felt incredibly natural. This record perfectly blends our sounds. It was one of the most requested IDs from my set at Creamfields, so I’m thrilled that we’re releasing it on Drumcode.“
Reflecting on the collaborative process, Layton Giordani shares, “Working with Eli is always an amazing experience. We naturally trust each other’s artistry and have a blast creating records together. ‘When I Push’ is a testament to that.”
OFFAIAH adds, “Revisiting one of my most sought-after tracks and infusing it with a fresh style has resulted in this unique release. Having Eli and Layton on board to bring this distinctive 2024 techno vibe has been an exhilarating sonic journey.”
