Two of Techno’s biggest hitters are back in the saddle for another collaboration of monumental proportions. Following the phenomenal global success of their chart-topping debut Mercury back in August 2022, HI-LO and Space 92 now return to the fore to deliver their eagerly awaited follow up record, Arpeggio. Out now via HI-LO’s burgeoning HILOMATIK imprint, Arpeggio sees the internationally celebrated Dutch producer continue his incredible run of form under his techno-leaning HI-LO alias, alongside one of the fastest rising names in electronic music; Space 92.
Unyielding basslines, frenzied rhythms and an unmistakable arpeggiated breakdown riff form the backbone of the single-sided package, as the two producers take us on a powerful peak-time journey through an uncompromising six-minute original. Famed for their dynamic soundscapes and hard-hitting atmospheres, HI-LO and Space 92’s treatment across Arpeggio is both gratifyingly dark and mind-bendingly hypnotic, engaging the listener in from the very first kick drum. Complete with impressive complexity and hi-octane energy throughout, the two producers capitalize on their innate ability to draw you into their captivating collaborative construct, as they explore a remarkable array of timbres from across the techno spectrum.
Speaking about the new single, HI-LO commented:
“I made the melody of this track in 2012 when I was 17 and it just always stuck with me, but I never finished a track with it. Until I showed it to Space 92 in Bali last year and we ended up finishing this idea together, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result! More melodic, melancholic & ‘dramatic’ than our previous collab ‘Mercury’, I think ‘Arpeggio’ perfectly blends the worlds of ‘Afterlife’ melodic techno, trance and peak time techno, without losing any of that high energy drive that also made ‘Mercury’ so effective.”
Continuing on the collaboration, Space 92 commented:
“Working again with Oliver was an absolute pleasure as always. Our two worlds merge in such a delicate manner, I’m very excited about this one!”
