Sonic Bloom Celebrates Nearly Two Decades With Stunning Phase 2 Lineup Drop

Sonic Bloom Festival just added to its stacked festival June 15-18 in Colorado with even more diverse artists in its phase two lineup drop.

Joining the already star-powered list is Excision-backed bass artist and activist A Hundred Drums, known for supporting GRiZ, G Jones, and Subtronics at their highly-acclaimed shows.

Also heading to the gorgeous mountain venue in 2023 are Cualli, St4rfox, Justin Roots, Lauren Joy, Shiloh, Project Aspect, and so many more talented names.

Phase one was extremely diverse with previously announced headliners like space-bass queen CloZee, fan-favorite Lotus, the multitalented Rome in Silver, Dirtybird regular Nala, and garage innovator Alix Perez, plus Tiedye Ky with a live band, TVBOO, and INZO.

Sonic Bloom is not just a music festival, it’s a transformative art and culture event that brings together members of the community to the stunning natural region of Hummingbird Ranch. The festival has been held at this picturesque location since 2015 and continues to treat the land with the same care it has given its festival goers.

Sonic Bloom strives to be zero waste, working together with ZeroHero to make their vendors and event as low waste as possible.

Composting, using biodiesel generators to power the stages and other equipment, using sustainable materials for its art installation, and encouraging sustainable agriculture with its “Permaculture Day” are only a few of the actions the festival takes in order to put on the greenest event feasible.

Check out the full phase two lineup drop below and tickets to Sonic Bloom from June 15-18 at Hummingbird Ranch in Colorado are still available on their website here.

The two new packages, named Astera and Marivela, are available at two different price points and will give attendees access to Tomorrowland’s Montagoe area.

This exclusive zone includes plenty of “chill-out” space, its own restaurant and bar, a swimming pool and hot tub, a beauty salon, squeaky clean shower and restroom facilities, and much more.

The Astera package is Tomorrowland’s brand-new tent accommodation. Astera guests will be housed in a “spacious double-sailed tent” that features a carpeted floor and sits on an elevated wooden platform.

The Astera campsites consist of an “inner and outer tent,” helping to keep inner temperatures consistent all week long.

These “instant homes” also feature wooden flooring, a double bed, air conditioning, and their own private bathrooms. In addition to the goodies on offer with Astera, Marivela guests will receive a set of Tomorrowland bathrobes and slippers, as well as a clothing rack to ensure that festival fits stay crisp, clean, and ready to rave.

Marivela packages—combined with the same admission ticket, shuttles, and train travel—will cost attendees $3,271.21 per person, according to the price simulator.

Spotify Will Axe 17 Percent Of Employees In Latest Round Of Layoffs

Spotify will lay off around 17 percent of its employees in an effort to “cut costs,” according to an internal memo obtained by Music Business Worldwide.

In the memo sent to staff today, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek wrote, “Considering the gap between our financial goal state and our current operational costs, I decided that a substantial action to right-size our costs was the best option to accomplish our objectives.”

“While I am convinced this is the right action for our company, I also understand it will be incredibly painful for our team,” he continued, “To be blunt, many smart, talented and hard-working people will be departing us.”

Though it remains unclear exactly how many jobs will be cut, 17 percent of Spotify’s roughly 9,300 employees would total about 1,500 layoffs.

The announcement also marks the streaming giant’s third round of layoffs this year.

In January, Music Business Worldwide reported that Spotify cut over 500 jobs worldwide to reduce its total employees by close to six percent. Another round of job cuts in June decreased the company’s total workforce by an additional 2 percent, including 200 slashed positions in its podcast division.

Following a recent price hike for premium subscriptions in the United States, Spotify reported profits of close to $60 million this quarter and added six million premium subscribers, bringing their total paying customer base to 226 million.

The forthcoming round of Spotify layoffs will begin this January, with the company planning to inform each impacted employee by end of day, tomorrow, Tuesday, December 5.

Maga, Emanuel Satie & Sean Doron Team Up on Stunning New House Cut, ‘Sleepless’

Following the remarkable international success of his two-part Lev EP together with Tim Engelhardt back in September, Lisbon-based producer and Scenarios co-founder Maga now looks to continue his prolific run of studio output into the fourth quarter of the year, with the announcement of his latest collaborative single, Sleepless.

Out now via Scenarios, Sleepless sees Maga team up with label mates and co-founders Emanuel Satie and Sean Doron for the imprint’s seventh and final offering of 2023, following the widely lauded releases of Lev EP, Rise EP, Resilience, All The Time, Flores and Side By Side.

Already road-tested to immaculate reception at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, Sleepless is a beautifully refined house cut that ebbs and flows between organic instrumentation and precise synth-work, creating an ethereal soundscape of elements that oozes peak-time dancefloor charm.

Built with ‘the journey’ in mind, Maga, Sean and Emanuel’s latest offering showcases constant evolution of Scenarios within its component members, weaving effortlessly between melody and tone to encapsulate the listener from the off. Known the world over for their unique underground energy and standout live performances, the collective has forged a deep and melodic sound all of their own, which is as organic and ethereal as it is experimental.

The Miami nightlife institution will now aim to bring some of its beloved terrace flair across the country in what promises to be a “diverse and dynamic musical experience.”

Creamfields Unveils Plans For World’s Largest Indoor Festival Stage

Creamfields has unveiled plans to build a new 30,000-capacity main stage, billed by organizers as the “largest indoor festival superstructure in the world.”

The stage, appropriately named “APEX,” will make its debut at the upcoming edition of Creamfields, which will return to Daresbury, Cheshire in the UK from August 22-25, 2024.

“Combined with jaw dropping production and the electric atmosphere Creamfields is known for, this brand-new addition to the festival’s landscape, shielded from the elements, will offer an epic immersive experience,” reads a page on the festival’s official website.

Following its grand opening on Friday, August 23, the new stage will also feature extended hours on Saturday, August 24, remaining open until 4AM–the latest end time in the festival’s history.

After being previously split into two separate festivals—Creamfields North and South—organizers announced in September that Creamfields 2024 will be combined into one mega festival at the site of last year’s Creamfields North.

No lineup has been announced for the forthcoming edition just yet, but major bookings at Creamfields 2023 included Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Carl Cox, Tiësto, and more.

Founded as a single-day event in 1998, Creamfields has grown to become the UK’s largest electronic music festival, annually attracting 70,000 ravers on each day of the festival.

Check out digital mock-ups and a teaser video for Creamfield’s new “APEX” main stage below. Creamfields 2024 is officially sold out. However, additional information and a limited number of verified resale tickets are available here.
